Details: This wonderful Victorian era signet ring is crafted in 15k yellow gold and graced with an especially fine and well-preserved carving of an anchor. We love this layered precious agate carving; the orange carnelian lends the thin layer of white chalcedony above it a faint lavender glow, creating a beautiful, distinctive image of grounding and hope.
The Victorians adored symbolism in their jewelry and the anchor is a favorite motif, symbolizing hope and protection. In 1602 when visiting Harefield House, Elizabeth I received a gem-encrusted jewel in the shape of an anchor to signify that ‘wherever you shall arrive, you may anchor safely, as you do….'
