This hybrid rhododendron boasts bright April blooms of deep red edged petals that take distinct golden orange hues toward the throat. This is an excellent color combination that it picks up from one of its parents, Sonata. Bill Stipe hybridized this beauty and named it after his daughter. Sandra Ann Stipe has an even growth habit that can reach 4' tall and 4' wide at maturity.

The medium-olive elliptic foliage makes for a handsome skirting. This cultivar is one to behold in any garden as it is so striking. Place in full sun to partial shade. Hardy to 10°F when protected from windchill.
