Published undated in the 18th century, I’ve only seen this rather rare volume a couple of times, including one we purchased previously at Sotheby’s.
The content is blistering; let’s just say Edwards didn’t believe the church’s rejection of him as their pastor was a portent of good things to come. He was voted out as the pastor by a 90% majority.
Original 18th century naïve quarter leather binding with leather on the spine and marbled paper over real wood boards, some of which is exposed with losses to boards and half of rear board absent. Solid, full title present as shown. Stained throughout block. Lacks first leaf of sermon. Else complete. In better condition, we would generally offer at $500 - $750.
