*RYE CHASIN *GUCCI* X EVIS* IMAGINARY COLLAB SERIES DENIM
FABRIC Constructed from imported 14.5oz heavyweight denim with a rich premium texture. The wash treatment pushes beyond the aged finish seen in GUCCI’s 26SS denim, creating a darker, more vintage appearance with a stronger streetwear attitude. The monogram canvas used on GUCCI handbags pairs naturally with this fabric combination.
FIT Designed with a relaxed straight-leg silhouette. Rather than adopting the slim straight fit seen on Demna-era GUCCI runways or an overly baggy shape, we chose a slightly relaxed cut that works across a wider range of body types and styling preferences. It allows luxury references and streetwear elements to coexist effortlessly.
CONSTRUCTION The monogram canvas panel is hand-sewn onto the denim after the washing process is completed. Although this method requires significantly more labor, it creates a more natural integration between materials. Minor stitching irregularities may occasionally appear around the rear "M" section — a subtle result of handmade construction rather than machine-perfect production. A compromise we were willing to make in favor of authenticity and overall design integrity.
CONCEPT Another chapter in RYE’s ongoing bootleg collaboration series.
For GUCCI 26SS, the runway embraced figures from underground culture, including FAKE MINK and other influential voices from contemporary streetwear. Yet the relationship between luxury fashion and street culture remains complicated.
If luxury brands can borrow from the streets, the streets can borrow back.
That tension sits at the center of this piece — a playful act of appropriation, reinterpretation, and mutual influence. No side is entirely untouchable. Sometimes fashion is simply a conversation carried out through clothing.
