Blue refabric
Built on a concept of high-quality Japanese fabrics and a commitment to authentic craftsmanship. Originally produced for many years as a ROCOCO exclusive line of JAPAN BLUE JEANS, it relaunches in 2026 under the name “Blue refabric.”

Production centers around partner factories of JAPAN BLUE JEANS. The name combines “Blue” — representing Japanese denim — with “Refabric,” a coined word blending Republic and Fabric. Inspired by the idea of a “Blue Republic,” the brand honors Japan’s textile heritage while creating garments that bring out the individuality of the wearer.

Primarily using premium denim from Okayama, each piece is carefully crafted in trusted domestic factories. The design approach is minimal yet defined, allowing the character and texture of the fabric to stand out. From “the country of fabric, Japan” to the world—Blue refabric presents a new standard rooted in respect for Japanese textiles.







A lost fabric, reimagined for style
The base is a 100% cotton chino cloth, with a pinhead stripe woven into the fabric.

The inspiration comes from Wabash, a fabric once used in workwear. Traditionally, it was created using a labor-intensive discharge printing method to form dotted stripes on indigo fabric.

Due to its complexity, making mass production difficult, the fabric largely disappeared after the 1970s, earning its reputation as a “lost fabric.”
This piece retains that character while being recreated using modern techniques.



While preserving visual depth, it balances ease of wear and cost efficiency, resulting in a realistic vintage-inspired finish.





The front features a zip fly for easy wear, ensuring comfort in everyday use. A coin pocket is placed on the right side, subtly referencing classic detailing.



Slash pockets allow easy hand entry.

The back features clean double welt pockets, adding a refined touch to its workwear roots.



An offset center-back belt loop adds a subtle design detail, reflecting careful attention to detail.



A label on the inside signifies production at a partner factory of JAPAN BLUE JEANS.





Designed with ample room through the hips and thighs, with a gentle taper from the knee to the hem, creating a wide tapered silhouette.

Relaxed in feel, yet clean in appearance—an ideal balance.

It pairs effortlessly with rugged tops without feeling heavy, while also complementing shirts or jackets for a more refined look, making it highly versatile across casual to polished styling.
