PPG SigmaDur 541 – Non-Isocyanate Epoxy Acrylic Finish
PPG SigmaDur 541 is a two-component, non-isocyanate epoxy-acrylic topcoat designed for long-lasting protection and colour stability across large-scale architectural and infrastructure projects. Available in thousands of colours including RAL, BS, NCS and NCS 2050, it offers a high-quality decorative finish with excellent performance in demanding environments.
With good gloss and colour retention, a non-yellowing formulation, and a long pot life combined with fast drying, SigmaDur 541 provides smooth application and efficient project turnaround. It performs exceptionally well without thinning, making it suitable for both new builds and maintenance programmes.
Ideal for bridges, stadiums, commercial buildings, venues, transport infrastructure and large structural steelwork.
Key Features:
Two-component, non-isocyanate epoxy-acrylic finish
Available in RAL, BS & NCS
Good gloss & colour retention with non-yellowing performance
Long pot life but fast drying for efficient application
Smooth application without thinning required
Ideal for commercial, structural and infrastructure environments
Substrate temperature
• Substrate temperature during application and curing should be above 5°C (41°F)
• Substrate temperature during application and curing should be at least 3°C (5°F) above dew point
Mixing ratio by volume: base to hardener 10:1
• Adding too much thinner results in reduced sag resistance
• The temperature of the mixed base and hardener should preferably be above 15°C (59°F), otherwise extra thinner
may be required to obtain application viscosity
• If required, thinner should be added after mixing the components
