The Air Barrel is a very simple, yet extremely versatile, multi-purpose training device.

While it may look like a foam octagon or barrel, it is filled with air and is BOUNCY, helping with drills that cannot be done with traditional foam shapes. The Air Barrel can be used for tumbling, vaulting and bar skills and teaches body awareness and control.

Cradles can be used to stabilise the Air Barrel for a variety of drills, and make great pre-school shapes when used by themselves. Set them up in obstacle courses or do cartwheels over them.

The Air Barrel can be used for tumbling, vaulting and bar skills and teaches body awareness and control. Each Air Barrel includes sturdy handles on the ends for easy mobility. Also, included on each end are d-rings for securing or suspending the Air Barrel for a variety of drills and uses. Each unit includes a dual-action hand pump. Now available in three sizes: 60cm, 75cm and 90cm diameter.

Do you have limited space or travel from site to site? When not in use, the Air Barrel deflates within seconds, making it incredibly portable and easy to store away. Be sure to check out the optional cradles for when you want your Barrels to stay put!

Choosing between the three sizes? We’ve seen creative coaches set up various stations with the Air Barrels with different height athletes in mind. For taller athletes, consider raising the height of an Air Barrel by placing it on top of a folded Tumbling Mat or Booster Block. If it’s the athlete that needs a little more height, have them stand on top of a raised surface. Here are some general height guidelines.

Choose the 60cm Air Barrel if you’re using it for athletes 88cm to 109cm tall.

Choose the 75cm Air Barrel if you’re using it for athletes 110cm to 135cm tall

Choose the 90cm Large Air Barrel if you’re using it for athletes who are taller than 135cm
