Emu Father takes responsibility once the Emu chicks are hatched.  The journey they take is one of learning and guidance and the chicks learn through experiencing all that is around them. This is always ongoing and when chicks themselves become parents they then pass on this knowledge.  This is the circle of knowledge.

Stephen Berger is a Central Arrernte man and his work is centred around his intimate recollections of the desert landscapes of Alice Springs. Stephen’s approach is quiet and considered, a repetitious practice of mark making which is intrinsically meditative.
