The largest confirmed gold find in Australia during the 20^th century, this mighty nugget weighed in at a whopping 1,136 ounces!

In 1986, the Perth Mint issued the first coins in its Gold Nugget Coin Series, including a tribute to the Golden Eagle designed by numismatic master craftsman Stuart Devlin – the man who designed Australia’s original decimal coins. Struck from 1/4oz of 99.99% gold and selectively-plated in 22-carat rose gold, this new tribute to the Golden Eagle bears a motif based on Devlin’s original design!
