By German designer Johannes Hemann, the Pressed Wood floor light is inspired by the growth of trees and the natural environment surrounding his forest dwelling.The work celebrates the organic quality of wood and infuses tactility into the interiors.

Crafted from freshly cut wood, the creative making process begins by applying pressure to separate it into individual fibers. After employing the traditional bending technique with steam and moulds, the fibrous wood is glued and pressed into the desired shape.
