For sale here is an E.W. Edwards "Mt. Carmel" bamboo rod -- 8'6" with three sections and two tips for a 5 or 6 weight line. Circa 1926/1927 Mt. Carmel era rod. The rod is in excellent restored condition, though there are a few issues. The rod was likely restored early in its life and several of the wraps are drying out and will require attention at some point. The agate stripping guide is a replacement. Also, the stripping guide wraps need to be replaced for the rod to be fishable again. The reel seat also has some minor aesthetic issues but nothing that hinders use in any way. There is a small area where the edge of the seat meets the grip that has been folded over on itself (see pictures). The sliding ring is also slightly misshapen. All rod sections are full length, the tip has a very slight fishing set.

The rod features light straw colored cane with gold wraps and black tipping. Four bands of gold at the winding check. Oxidized guides. Red agate stripper. The tip-tops are of the older circular style as opposed to the teardrop perfection style. The lettering on the butt is written in black india ink, extremely rare to see on Edwards rods. Sculpted nickel silver winding check. Classic cigar grip 5" in length. The grip is soiled and very lightly ridged where one's thumb is placed. Bright nickel silver cap and ring reel seat. The ferrule fit is good. The action is a very smooth medium-fast. The rod weighs 5.05 oz. Includes replacement bag and aluminum tube.
