The Iki Lamp is a white porcelain lamp, glazed with a matte glaze, creating a textured finish which resembles a sea urchin. The name ‘Iki’ comes from the Japanese aesthetic concept of a subdued display of taste or more roughly ‘chic’ or stylish.

Part of Samarkand Design's 'The Kimono Collection' which is inspired by the Japanese aesthetic and is created in partnership with the renowned ceramicist – Ikuko Iwamoto.

Based in London, Ikuko is inspired by the intricate and fragile forms found in the natural world. Typically her work in porcelain involves using a slip-casting technique to create unique, organic pieces which are both intricate and natural.
