The factory LS cylinder head is machined with a metric M12-1.5 coolant sensor port so the factory small block Chevy sensor will not thread through. This adapter allows you to keep your original sensor and integrate it into your replaced LS engine. Adapter has a female 3/8" NPT port, 1.7" deep. Please refer to thread chart to ensure correct size. (Use PN# 551179 for 0.85" deep adapter for shorter sensors) Aerospace grade American billet aluminum, manufactured by KS Wichita. This adapter fits all LS series engines. The adapter is sold separately and includes one sealing washer.
