For sale here is a bench-made reel by David Edel in near mint condition with only some natural tarnish from age on the German silver fittings. The reel is designed in the classic style of an Edward Vom Hofe Perfection reel. It's a single action reel and has an extremely effective back-plate mounted adjustable drag, from the lightest to the heaviest settings. The reel has a 3" diameter and 15/16" wide spool. It also includes a click switch on the winding plate that enables silent drag operation. The reel is mostly made of German silver with an aluminum spool and only the best quality ebonite side plates. The reel is set up for left hand retrieve. Comes with a custom A.E. Nelson reel case. Mr. Nelson is best known for his custom leathered creels, and was commissioned by Edel to make these high quality cases for his reels.
