For sale here is an Orvis Midge 7'6" 2/2 4-5wt bamboo rod. Serial no. 58275. Made in 1970. The rod is in excellent+ original condition. All sections are full length and straight. Lovely, darkly tempered and impregnated cane. Dark caramel colored wraps. The varnish on the wraps and over the writing remains in exceptional condition. Bright guides. U-shaped hook-keeper. Sculpted nickel silver winding check. Cigar grip 6" in length with a skinny nose often seen on Orvis grips. Bright aluminum down-locking reel seat with a walnut spacer. The blued step-down ferrules are size 10/64, the fit is perfect. The rod weighs 3 5/8 oz. The action is on the medium side of medium-fast and quite smooth. The rod is marked for a 5wt though a line size down is usually best for these Orvis rods. Includes original gray bag and tube with blue and gold foil label.
