MYCOMB® Cream is a topical veterinary formulation manufactured by Stephan Pharmaceuticals (HK) Limited, designed for the treatment of mixed bacterial and fungal skin infections in cats and dogs. This prescription-only cream combines a corticosteroid, an antifungal, and an antibiotic to provide broad-spectrum coverage against inflammation, dermatophytes, and secondary bacterial infections. It is commonly used in veterinary dermatology to manage conditions such as ringworm, dermatitis, and infected eczema.

Ingredients

• Active Ingredients (per gram):
  • Betamethasone dipropionate – 0.64 mg (equivalent to 0.5 mg betamethasone)
  • Clotrimazole – 10 mg
  • Gentamicin sulfate – 1 mg (equivalent to 0.1% w/w)
• Inactive Ingredients:
  • White soft paraffin
  • Liquid paraffin
  • Emulsifying wax
  • Purified water
  • Preservatives and stabilizers (varies by batch)

Uses / Indications

• MYCOMB® Cream is indicated for:
• Dermatophytosis (ringworm)
• Inflamed fungal infections (e.g. candidiasis)
• Secondary bacterial infections of the skin
• Allergic or contact dermatitis with microbial involvement
• Eczematous lesions with signs of infection

Dosage

• Apply a thin layer to the affected area twice daily
• Gently massage into the skin
• Duration: 7–14 days, or as directed by a veterinarian
• Wash hands after application
• Prevent licking or grooming of treated area (use collar if necessary)

Possible Side Effects

• Mild skin irritation or burning at application site
• Allergic reactions (e.g. rash, swelling, pruritus)
• Skin thinning or delayed healing with prolonged corticosteroid use
• Rare: Systemic absorption leading to adrenal suppression (especially in small animals or large application areas)

Drug & Food Interactions

• Avoid concurrent use with other topical corticosteroids or aminoglycosides unless prescribed
• No known food interactions
• Use with caution in animals receiving systemic immunosuppressants

Precautions

• For external use only
• Do not apply to deep wounds, punctures, or severe burns
• Avoid contact with eyes, mucous membranes, or ingestion
• Not recommended for pregnant or lactating animals unless advised by a veterinarian
