100% Pinot Noir from a single parcel in Le Breuil called La Brousse where they have diseased vines producing some very beautiful bunches of grapes with tiny berries and great concentration. South-south-west-facing plot of 45-year-old vines, farmed along biodynamic principles (not certified) and according to lunar cycles. Hand-picked. Pneumatic press. Vinification in stainless steel. No malo. Aged eight months in oak tuns and five years sur lattes. Tirage in 2018. Disgorged January 2023. Dosage 0 g/l. Like the ADN de Foudre Meunier, the nose on this is very much in the red-berry spectrum, sweet, succulent strawberries and raspberries. Creamy but also with a rather delicious pan-warmed cumin and spelt savouriness. Real generosity of fruit but the acidity chisels deep grooves of structure into the richness. Develops pistachio nuttiness through the palate, building into the finish. Satin bubbles. Quiet pulse of energy and life. These Mignon wines are distinctive, unique, and a little bit special. (TC)
