Liquified Phenol Ampoules contain 89% USP pharmaceutical-grade phenol, a chemical compound with antiseptic, anesthetic, and cauterizing properties. Phenol is widely used, most commonly in podiatry procedures such as ingrown toenail treatments, where it is applied to the nail matrix to prevent regrowth. It may also be used in certain dermatology and minor surgical applications requiring controlled cauterization.
