If you already have one of the Thule VeloCompact 926 or 927, 2-bike or 3-bike carriers, you can increase your capacity by one bike with this handy add-on.

The 4th bike adapter clamps securely to the outermost wheel support platform on your existing VeloCompact carrier and provides the same wheel support platform and ratcheting wheel straps as the VeloCompact carrier with the addition of a small, double-headed clamping arm that supports your 4th bike by clamping it securely to the 3rd bike.

How many bikes does it carry: The 4th bike adapter increases your capacity by one bike.

How does it carry them: Platform racks carry the bike by supporting it by the wheels. The ratcheting wheel straps prevent the bike from moving fore and aft and the provided intermediate clamping arm keeps the bike upright by supporting it from the adjacent bike that is held in place with a support arm back to the carrier itself.

How much weight can it carry: The 4th bike adapter can carry a single bike of up to 15kg, which is a little less than the 25kg rating of the bikes on the existing VeloCompact but is still sufficient to carry most non-E-Bikes.

E-Bike rated: Being rated to 15kg most E-Bikes will be excluded.

How does it mount to the car: The 4th bike adapter mounts to your existing VeloCompact 2-bike or 3-bike carrier and is designed to be installed and removed quickly and easily as required.

Does it tilt or swing to gain access to the vehicle: Your existing VeloCompact carrier does tilt away from the vehicle to allow access to the tailgate or hatch while fully loaded. This does not change with the addition of the 4th bike adapter.

What size bikes (wheel base) can it carry: The maximum wheelbase it will accommodate is 1300mm, the same as your existing VeloCompact rack.

What is the max tyre size: The maximum recommended tyre size is 29" x 3"

How much does it weigh / dimensions: The 4th bike adapter adds 2.8kg to your existing rack. It also adds a little height to your existing rack and a little depth but not as much as you might think due to the additional platform sitting above the lights.

Does it fold up for storage: The 4th bike adapter can be removed from your existing carrier and therefore doesn't impact the way it folds for storage.

Does it include a lock: Yes, the intermediate arm allows you to lock the additional bike, to the other bikes on the rack.

Does it have an integrated licence plate holder / brake / reverse lights: The 4th bike adapter sits above the lights and number plate of your existing VeloCompact carrier.
