An iron pot produced by Makoto Koizumi. The handle is designed to be easy to hold and to be balanced to reduce the weight. It is the perfect size to fit in a toaster or grill. It has just the right capacity for a single-person pot, and can be used as a container to eat hot food. The iron stores heat well, so the surface temperature of the food does not drop easily, and the food is cooked instantly without losing its flavor.
Nanbu ironware is an iron casting that has been produced in Iwate Prefecture for a long time. At Mycorrhizae, iron kettles and tea utensils made using traditional methods have attracted attention, and practical cooking utensils are also being produced using new methods. The technique of "metal stopper", which forms an oxide film on the inside of an iron kettle to protect it from rust, originated from Nanbu ironware.
