Zinsser Wallpaper Cover-Up is a high-performance, all-in-one primer, sealer and stain blocker designed specifically for painting over wallpaper. Its high-hiding formula obliterates wallpaper print in a single coat and creates a smooth, off-white matt finish ready for any coloured emulsion.

Unlike standard emulsions that can cause wallpaper to lift, bubble or blister, Wallpaper Cover-Up locks down the surface, preventing moisture from penetrating and ensuring a flat, secure base. It also includes a powerful stain blocker that seals in unsightly marks such as water stains, smoke damage and other persistent residues, stopping them from bleeding through to the final finish.

Ideal for both professional decorators and DIY users, this single-coat solution simplifies wallpaper redecorating jobs and ensures long-lasting results with minimal prep.

Surface Preparation

• Ensure surfaces are clean, dry and free from dust, grease or contaminants

• Wallpaper must be securely bonded to the substrate – no loose or peeling areas

• No thinning required

• For best results on heavily patterned wallpaper, a 'wet on wet' second roller pass 15–30 minutes after the first coat may improve obliteration

Directions for Use

1. Stir thoroughly before use.

2. Apply in temperatures between 10–30°C in a well-ventilated area.

3. For best results, apply with a short pile (up to 5mm) mohair or microfibre roller.

4. If brushing, limit to cutting-in. Avoid overspreading.

5. For improved coverage on dark or patterned wallpapers, apply a 'wet on wet' second pass after 15–30 minutes.

6. Allow at least 4 hours before applying emulsion or topcoat.

7. Clean tools with white spirit after use.
