^^^^^Epidote is a green, silicate mineral containing aluminum that is often found in metamorphic rocks. It often forms lustrous, elongated and interconnected crystals that are highly coveted by collectors. While nearly all epidote is dominantly green it may present as many different shades of color from yellowish, yellow-green to deep, dark green. Epidote crystals with high luster and well formed are considered more valuable to gemologists and mineralogists.
