Sansevero

The Sansevero Chapel in Naples holds the Veiled Christ, a marble sculpture in which the veil draped over the figure reads as real cloth. The material distinction between stone and textile disappears entirely. Raymond de Sangro, the 18th-century Prince who commissioned it, spent a lifetime at the boundary between art and science, between the known and the seemingly impossible.

This glove builds its design from the same logic of material contrast. Nappa leather on the palm and fingers; a 100% Vitale Barberis Canonico cashmere panel on the back. A contrasting trim runs along the seam where the two materials meet, its colour coordinated with the cashmere tone. Snap button closure at the wrist. Cashmere lining. Hand-crafted in Naples.

Forest green, taupe, black, brown. The warmer palette: each cashmere tone reads differently against the nappa beneath. The boundary between the two materials is the design. The trim makes it deliberate.
