Overview

This tour package is great alternative for those who would like to explore Cusco, Peru via comfortable transportation rather than on foot.

The tour begins in Lima, the Capital of Peru, famous for its colonial constructions and museums, as well as its diverse gastronomy. The tour will continue upon arrival to city of Cusco. Cusco is considered a World Cultural Heritage Site, as well as the navel of the world. Requested accommodations will be located in Cusco, from which the various excursions will leave from.

While touring Cusco we will visit the famous Cusco Cathedral, an impressively decorated church, as well as a place called Sacayhuaman, where you will have the best views of the city. We will later take route to Qenqo, Puncapucara and Tamomachay. We will then travel to the Sacred Valley of the Incas, visiting the historic ruins and the noteworthy market of Pisaq, while in route to Ollantaytambo from which we will take train to Aguas Calientes and later reach Machu Picchu.

This package can be personalized to accommodate a relaxation day, or additional tour to learn more about the Inca culture.

Itinerary

Day 1:

Arrival in Lima

Welcome to Lima, international gateway to Peru. These next few days are packed with adventure, but tonight, we’ll meet you upon arrival at the Lima airport and take you to your hotel for a good night’s rest after your flight.

Day 2:

City Tour Lima

After the breakfast our guide will pick you up from your hotel to start your tour in Lima, A half-day guided tour of Lima, including a visit to the pre-Columbian archaeological site. We’ll sample the famous lucuma mousse and explore the Cathedral, the Monastery of San Francisco, the Catacombs, and the historic center of Lima.

After the your our transport will bring you to your hotel.

Day 3:

Arrival in Cusco

After your breakfast our transport will bring you to the airport to take your flight to Cusco

Situated at 3,400 meters (11,150 feet) above sea level, Cusco is a beautiful city of white-washed walls, some with Inca stones, red-tiled roofs, and soaring churches nestled in a fertile mountain basin.

Take a stroll around the historic center to admire the magnificent colonial architecture and the remnants of Inca walls. Be sure to head to the Plaza de Armas to experience the social heart of this bustling city.

Day 4:

City Tour Cusco

Your tour today will introduce you to the remarkable history of Cusco as visible in its monumental architecture, richly ornamented churches, and present-day Andean cultural practices.

Begin in the UNESCO-recognized historic center. Visit the majestic Cusco Cathedral and the Qoricancha or Temple of the Sun. Then drive into the countryside to see the ruins of Sacsayhuaman, Qenko, Tambomachay, and Pukapukara.

Day 5:

Sacred Valley Tour

The Sacred Valley was the spiritual center of the Inca Empire, where all-powerful emperors built private estates, temples, fortifications, and thousands of agricultural terraces.

Join your guide for a jaunt through the Sacred Valley’s remarkable places. Explore the Pisac ruins and shop at the famous artisan market in the village plaza. Scale the heights of Ollantaytambo fortress and be sure to explore the stone-lined streets of the village where water still flows through Inca-built channels.

After Ollataytambo you will explore the picturesque town of Chincheros and its fascinating ruins, where Inca agricultural techniques continue to amaze visitors to this day. After your tour, you will be transferred back to your hotel.

Day 6:

Train to Aguas Calientes

Today, our transportation service will pick you up from your hotel and drive you to the Ollantaytambo train station (approximately 1 hour and 50 minutes drive).

Upon your arrival in Ollantaytambo, you will board the train to Aguas Calientes. Our transfer service will be waiting for you at the train station to take you to your hotel.

Later, our knowledgeable guide will visit you at your hotel to discuss the plan for the following day.

Day 7:

Machu Picchu / Train to Cusco

For 400 years, the “lost city of the Incas” remained hidden atop a mountain ridge until it was revealed to the world on the pages of National Geographic in 1911.

Your day begins with an early morning bus transfer up to the ruins. Your tour guide will lead you on an unforgettable walk through Machu Picchu’s stone-lined paths, along the terrace edges, to the base of structures that testify to the extraordinary skill of its builders.

After snapping some final photos, board the shuttle bus back to town and transfer to the train station for your return to Cusco.

Optional: Hike Huayna Picchu to get a bird’s eye view of the ruins or take the Machu Picchu Mountain hike to appreciate more of the surrounding scenery. Permits are limited and must be booked in advance, so let us know asap if you’re up for the challenge.

Day 8:

Full-Day Humantay Lake Tour

Prepare for a day of breathtaking natural beauty and high-altitude exploration on the Humantay Lake tour. This comprehensive one-day adventure offers you a glimpse of one of Peru’s most stunning landscapes. Here’s what to expect, from hotel pickup to drop-off:

 

Your day begins with the convenience of hotel pickup. A knowledgeable guide will pick you up, setting the stage for a memorable journey to Humantay Lake.

Relax and take in the picturesque Peruvian countryside during your comfortable ride to Soraypampa. As you ascend into the Andes, the surrounding landscapes become increasingly dramatic.

Before the hike begins, you’ll stop in Mollepata for a hearty breakfast. Fuel up for the adventure ahead with traditional Andean cuisine.

The highlight of the day is a hike to the incredible Humantay Lake. Along the way, you’ll be captivated by the region’s natural beauty, from striking vistas to alpine flora and fauna.

After your trek to Humantay Lake, you’ll return to Soraypampa for a well-deserved lunch. Savor the flavors of local cuisine while enjoying stunning mountain views.

As the day draws to a close, you’ll start your journey back to Cusco, reflecting on the high-altitude adventure you’ve just experienced.
