Itinerary

Day 1:

Arrival in Lima

Welcome to Lima, international gateway to Peru. These next few days are packed with adventure, but tonight, we’ll meet you upon arrival at the Lima airport and take you to your hotel for a good night’s rest after your flight.

The capital city of Lima offers plenty for visitors – tour the beautiful historic center, visit museums, take a cooking class or paraglide over the Pacific coast in scenic Miraflores. Ask me for more info!

Day 2:

Lima City + Larco Museum Tour

Begin your tour with a view of the Pacific Ocean. The drive will take you through the modern districts of Miraflores and San Isidro. On the way, you’ll get to admire the Huaca Pucllana, a pre-Incan ceremonial temple in the shape of a pyramid that is located amidst Lima’s urban area.

Next, you’ll visit the historic center of Lima, designated as a UNESCO World Heritage site. During this part of the tour, you’ll stroll through the area that was once the heart of the Spanish Colony in the 16th century. Here, you’ll also visit the Santo Domingo Convent, where you can witness the relics of three Peruvian saints: Santa Rosa de Lima, San Martin de Porres, and San Juan Macías.

Afterward, we’ll head to the district of Pueblo Libre, where you’ll visit the Larco Museum. This museum houses the world’s finest and most comprehensive collection of pre-Hispanic gold and silver artifacts from Peru. It’s also known for its visible storage, which contains 30,000 cataloged ancient pottery pieces, as well as its erotic gallery.

At the end of the tour, you can choose whether you’d like to return to your hotel or be dropped off at the Larcomar Shopping Center in Miraflores.

Day 3:

Embark and Explore the Jungle, your adventure begins as you board our luxurious Amazon cruise ship. Settle into your comfortable cabin and prepare for an unforgettable journey. We’ll venture deep into the jungle on our first expedition, exploring the Amazon’s rich biodiversity and vibrant ecosystem. Look out for exotic wildlife, and immerse yourself in the sights and sounds of the rainforest. In the evening, enjoy a delicious dinner on board while listening to the symphony of the jungle.

In the afternoon, we’ll continue our journey through the lush rainforest, observing diverse wildlife and beautiful landscapes.

Piranha Fishing and Departure On your final day, try your hand at piranha fishing before bidding farewell to the Amazon. Reflect on your incredible journey as you cruise back to the port. Disembark with a newfound appreciation for the world’s largest tropical rainforest and the unique experiences it offers. This 4-day Amazon River cruise is a thrilling adventure that combines luxury, exploration, and cultural immersion, ensuring you create lasting memories and a deep connection with one of the Earth’s most remarkable ecosystems. After disembarking, you will be transferred to the airport for your flight to Cusco with a connection in Lima. In Cusco, a member of our team will be waiting to take you to your hotel to rest and acclimate to the altitude.

Day 7:

Cusco City Tour

Your tour today will introduce you to the remarkable history of Cusco as visible in its monumental architecture, richly ornamented churches, and present-day Andean cultural practices.

Begin in the UNESCO-recognized historic center. Visit the majestic Cusco Cathedral and the Qoricancha or Temple of the Sun. Then drive into the countryside to see the ruins of Sacsayhuaman and Qenko.

Blessed by a rich history and stunning scenery, Cusco never fails to impress. Whether you crave outdoor adventure or simply want to learn more about the city’s pre-Colonial past, I’d be happy to share some ideas.

Day 8:

Sacred Valley Tour

The Sacred Valley was the spiritual center of the Inca Empire, where all-powerful emperors built private estates, temples, fortifications, and thousands of agricultural terraces.

Join your guide for a jaunt through the Sacred Valley’s remarkable places. Explore the Pisac ruins and shop at the famous artisan market in the village plaza. Scale the heights of Ollantaytambo fortress and be sure to explore the stone-lined streets of the village where water still flows through Inca-built channels.

Day 9:

Chinchero Maras & Moray Tour

Leave the lively Hotel in Urubamba, and set out to discover some of the cultural highlights and Inca masterpieces in the Sacred Valley. Departing from Urubamba in the morning with your guide and fellow travelers, the tour begins with a scenic drive to the town of Chinchero. Here, visit the locally run Textile Center to learn about the region’s longstanding weaving traditions and have time to shop for souvenirs. Next, head to the striking Moray archaeological complex and learn how the circular farming terraces served the Incas as their large agricultural laboratory. A visit to the famous salt mines of Maras is the final stop on the tour. Fed by a saltwater brook, the 3,000 plus shallow pools built along a hillside in the Sacred Valley is a sight to behold. Later, return and drop off in Urubamba.

Day 10:

Train to Aguas Calientes

Today, our transportation service will pick you up at your hotel and take you to the Ollantaytambo train station (approximately 1 hour and 50 minutes by car). Upon your arrival in Ollantaytambo, you will board the train to Aguas Calientes. Our transfer service will be waiting for you at the train station to take you to your hotel. Later, our knowledgeable guide will visit you at your hotel to discuss the plan for the next day.

Day 11:

Machu Picchu Tour

For 400 years, the “lost city of the Incas” remained hidden atop a mountain ridge until it was revealed to the world on the pages of National Geographic in 1911.

Your day begins with an early morning train, followed by a bus transfer up to the ruins. Your tour guide will lead you on an unforgettable walk through Machu Picchu’s stone-lined paths, along the terrace edges, to the base of structures that testify to the extraordinary skill of its builders.

After snapping some final photos, board the shuttle bus back to town and transfer to the train station for your return to Cusco.

Optional: Hike Huayna Picchu to get a bird’s eye view of the ruins or take the Machu Picchu Mountain hike to appreciate more of the surrounding scenery. Permits are limited and must be booked in advance, so let us know asap if you’re up for the challenge.

Day 12:
